The PCWI Compact Pulse High Voltage Porosity Detector is fully adjustable, has regulated pulsed output up to 20kV, 40kV or 50kV. All pulse models can be used for porosity and holiday testing of carbon impregnated coatings such as carbonated rubber, thick coatings such as rubber linings and on ‘plastic’/fibreglass type coatings likely to become electrostatically charged

• The Pulse 50kV model is the only portable battery operated model on the market capable of generating voltages from 10,000 to 50,000 volts. The P50 was designed for use with Rubber Coatings. It is not for use on Pipelines

Applications

Used for detection of coating porosity (pinholes or holidays) in dielectric (insulation type) coatings on conductive substrates, including concrete.

Regulated pulsed output is fully adjustable. Ideal for use:

• In moist conditions
• On wet coating surfaces
• On contaminated coating surfaces
• On carbon-impregnated coatings, i.e. carbonated rubber
• On "plastic/fiberglass type coatings likely to become electrostatically charged
• Coating thickness range: 6 to 1000 mils (150 to 25,000µm) with the P40 holiday detector (and even thicker coatings with the P60)

Applications

Used for detection of Coating Porosity (Pin-holes, or Holidays) in dielectric (insulation type) coatings on conductive substrates, including Concrete. Suitable for Production Pipeline Coating operations, Tank-Work and Structures. Ideal for use on Storage Tanks, Valves and Pipelines.

Housed in a fully portable ABS case, the Detectors deliver stabilized DC output of up to 30kV. Constant Current source maintains applied test voltage. Full test current at low voltages (where it is needed most) when testing at low film builds (eg: 150μm - as per AS3894.1).

Incorporating momentary-on and continuous-on switches (mounted on the front panel), allowing the units to be switched on momentarily for safety, or run continuously.

No need to swap probes to change voltage - the Detectors have Clip-on Battery Packs that must be separately charged. Fully recharged in 4 hours. Regulated DC output Fully Adjustable. Applied voltage and battery condition are continuously shown on the Liquid Crystal Display.
